Default LS1 Heads on an LT1

I've got a 2002 SS that I'm getting the Z06 LS6 heads for. So I'm gonna have some spare LS1 heads laying around. My friend has a 1996 LT1 Camaro Z28. Will my heads fit on his block (I know next to nothing about the LT1) and if so will it actually offer him any performance gains?

Will not fit bolts wont line up different intake manifolds. Sell them on here is your best bet.

What if he used an LS1 intake as well? Will that not fit on the LT1 block?

Completely different motor! It will not work. You could sell him an intake and a block. Then it would all bolt up.

Wow... I didn't think it was a completely different motor. Thanks guys. I'll have to give him the bad news.

Much appreciated.

If it would work, that would be awesome, but you might as be trying to put modular Ford heads on it because its going to run about as well as a penguin can fly.

If he wants to put a SB Ford in it the heads will bolt to it. . . .
