Default 6.0L home ported heads track results!

Well it was my first time ever drag racing at the strip.

Get to the point...

Best et 12.66, 2.14 60' street tires
Best mph 115

Approx. 3700lb. race weight, 6M car.

mods are 6.0L home ported heads and below mods with stock MAF.

What do you think?

It was humid and about 80 degrees.
The turbo cars were running 4-5mph slower than their best.

I will dyno soon.

For comparison, my friend with a 99' SS just added SLP LT with cats and cut out, TR224 cam LS6 intake, ran 12.8 at 111. He got me out of the hole almost everytime but I ran him down.

He has not raised his rev limiter yet though.
I would imagine he would have faired better is he shifted at 6500 to 6600 rpm like me.

What do you think my SAE corrected rwhp will be?

Last dyno was 369 rwhp with GMS MAF and below mods.

How much difference did you see from the home ported heads?

So y0ou have Heads/cam/headers/exhaust and you ran a 12.6?
You should be able to do a LOT better than that.. The MPH isn't too too bad but the 12.6 should be able to go down lower than that.

The ET is not that great for a heads/cam car, but the 60' explains that...get that 60 to a 1.6 and your 11's easily..

Cool!

I like to see guys that want to "Hotrod" to the true meaning of the word. I did the same and it definately paid off for me.

I went 12.6 or 12.7 my first time out with my heads/cam when I still had the 6 speed and Nittos. I had spinning problems as well. It later ran 12.2 on nitto's @ 119MPH so just get it to hook a little better.

As a word of encouragement, the same Heads/Cam packages now runs 10.80's-.90's consistently. It's fun to learn the car and tweak the suspension to get the best times. I hope you do the same, I want to see an 11 sec pass. Not too long ago, 11's by the tuner's were tough.

Congrats.

Great news! Another member of the DIY head porting club. You did good. Racing an M6 well is tough going and takes a ton of practice to get consistent times. You will keep getting faster and faster.
