either the MTI "old man cam" - search for the specs or the tried and true B1 cam (221 duration). still a killer cam for the near stock idle.

take a look at this thread for small cams with lots of power.

And, just for reference my 216 duration cam made 397/394 SAE on the stock heads.

Sounds clip: right click, save as

Sounds like the MTI Stealth I or II might be right up your alley. Do a search here for this great cam. I run it in my '02. 1/4 times listed in sig.

Call AMS.
I was looking at that cam myself. 400rwhp potential, likes a small shot of nitrous. Designed as a cam only + bolt ons.
I asked AMS for a dyno graph but still no response. (A couple of days ago)

Probably the wrong thread to mention the LS6 cam...
With LS6 stock heads, LS6 stock cam, late block and intake + headers = 394rwhp untuned. Can you get more "stealth" than that?

When guys say the LS6 cam is gutless, they are comparing it "spring busters"...

PS - I heard a C5 with the AFR's and a 224/228 114LSA on the dyno, and on the street. Very mild. Dyno'd pretty damn high though...

just did a search in the drag racing section. I don't see many good results from the LS6 cam ...

... that's also why I opted for a different stealth cam. Biggest thing is my increas in torque over stock way down in the RPM band.

Really? I dunno. At Vegas I outran all five Supercharged C5's for the "Quickest Corvette" honors. Guess I should get rid of the POS...

The Z06 cam is meant to be ran from 4500-7000. If you are not willing to spin it, don't bother with it.

for a point of reference what big cam did you use? How close to "almost stock" are you looking for?

224/220 116 +4
That cam should completely disappear on an 800 - 850 rpm idle. A 228/224 114 +4 would also idle like silk at 900 rpm, but have a little audible burble to it.

I was running a 230/224 on a 112LSA and I dont mind if it has a little sound to it I just dont want the car to shake so bad.And I wanto be able to lug around at 1100-1300 RPM without the car lunging. And most of all I dont want to hear the wife bitch about it when she drives it .

so, you out raced S/C C5's with a basically stock engined Z06 ... so, powermods are headers & intake and you don't think the 4.10's helped?? Sounds like you're a really good driver.

We offer a 220/220 581 581 on a 115 that we use as our sleeper camshaft. Its currently on special for $360 & picked up about 30-34rwhp on Jason's wife's 02 SS.

Don't forget the LPE GT2-3 cam (207/220 .571/.578 118.5 lsa). It will have more power than the LS6 cam and should idle almost smoother than stock

i've been told it does idle better than stock.
side note, supposed to give a good power increase low to mid.

i have this cam above my desk, waiting to be installed
