As the title says. Has anybody, including professionals, ever fully elimanated cam surging at low RPMS (below 2000) with tuning? Is it just a dream? I just want to know if I should move on to other things...

It took me a while, but I have nearly eliminated all traces of surge with mine (370cid iron w/ 238/240 cam). I cruise in 5th at 1700 RPM all the time, smooth as silk. 6th it doesn't like as much at low RPMs though, it starts lugging and the fuel delivery rate goes way up.

No surge. Idle is set at 900rpm's. Maybe cam and high stall. I feel that with a high stall surge is not as much a problem as eliminating low idle at stops.

The problem is bigger cams just aren't made to lug around.Tuning anything under a 230 is fairly easy to have no surge from idle. The bigger cams of 234+ on 346ci motors just aren't made to be under certain rpm ranges.Thats why they recommend different cams for different rpm ranges.

It's not fairly easy with an A4.

Ok, so now we have figured out that it can be done. So can somebody explain what changes you made? Because this question has really never been answered. Surge sucks.

I'll start another thread with that specific topic and see if we can get pointed in the right direction.
