I just got some light weight black carpet at Home Base. It was $19.97 for 60 sq/ft. It comes in at 5#, compared to ~35# for the stock carpet/insulation. I'm in the process of installing it right now. I've done this mod before and the only negative is 1) it’s a hassle to install, and 2) the car will get louder inside. Luckily this car has a really quiet exhaust so I don't anticipate the extra noise being a problem for me.

Speed INC. has lite weight carpet. I have gotten 2 kits from them and it is premolded to fit and is 16. lbs lighter than stock. The quality is killer and it fits excellent. I ordered the kits without holes but they have the carpet with all the holes prepunched.

cool thanks for the insight we dont have a homebase here but I am going to check around today. As far exhaust I have a 4" single out mufflex with no cats but I am going to put the stock firhawk exhaust back on it from what I have been hearing there is not much difference in performance and it is lighter

My Homebase carpet just saved me 30#. Looks pretty good too. I hope you have a quiet exhaust system.
