Default 4.30 gears in a 10 bolt??

Hey is there such a thing as 4.30 gears for a 10 Bolt??

I bought my car used and it already had gears in it. I figured they were 4.10 gears and never thought about it much.

Well I know that in second gear it's 2000rpm = 20mph, 3000rpm = 30mph and it hits revlimiter @ 6400 rpm it's going 64mph.

According to www.f-body.org/gears that's a 4.30 ratio, if it was 4.10 gears 6400 rpm in second would be 67mph and it's not.

I didn't think they made 4.30 gears for a 10 bolt

Thanks.

4.56 was the next size up and fairly rare. Your tires may be off or the speedo itself may have been changed incorrectly. AFAIK there was NEVER a 4.30 made...

Ive read about 4.30 gears available from isuzu pickups. Its an offshoot of the s-10 pickup and they have 10bolts. I havent heard of anyone using 4.30 gears.

The speedometer was probably wasnt calibrated properly.

Putting 4:30's in a 10 bolt is like lighting a very SHORT fuse to a stick of dynamite...

Yes they do make 4.30 gears for your rear end. I put a set of Strange 4.30 gears in my brother's S-10 10 bolt rear end. Which is the same as an F-body(7-5/8").

Well like I said I didn't put them in there. Also it was like 5am when I was looking at that stuff so it might have made a difference. LOL

Looks more like 4.10.... sorry for being a dumbass

I had Yukon Gear 4.30's in my ten bolt. They lasted about a month!
