Roll Cage requirements for 10.99 and 135 mph and 9.99 and 150 mph questions
Ok. I did a search on the net about roll cages. Some say NHRA requires them at 135 mph or 10.99. Other sites say you have to have them at 9.99. I need to know which. Also S & W racecars told me they don't believe swingouts are legal after like 10.99. Anyone know how far they are legal on a 10 or 12 point cage. Are they legal past 9.99. I want to do a 10 pt with swingouts but if that doesn't keep me legal I might as well stick with a 6 pt and swooped door bars and forget about the full cage. Also if you have experience with HRP that will be my home track. I haven't race there since 98 and wasn't near as fast then.

I am sure a 10point will be plenty good past 9.99 Someone chime in if I am wrong.

There's a link on that page to email questions to NHRA tech dept. It should take around a week or so to get a response( at least in my case) and you're getting the info from the people who know

Thanks for the info guys. I'd rather be safe than put a heavy *** 10 pt in the car and then still not be legal.
Thanks

NHRA e-mailed me a huge excerpt from the 2002 rulebook that answered all my questions. If anyone is interested drop me an e-mail and I can forward it to you.
Thanks again
