Default (Update#2)A story about a weekend of Drag Racing.

Well, lets start off by telling yall that I went to HRP tonight(Friday)
A little practise never hurts(big race on Sat.)

I ran a new best in 60ft. 1.54 and a new best in the 1/8 mile 7.29 @ 94MPH. No new times in the 1/4 mile. The best that I had tonight was 11.36 at 120.9mph. I think the weather had some thing to do with it. I was down by 1.1 mph from two weeks ago. I did play with tire pressure and the Hal adjustments.

I did cut pretty good lights 525 to 545. I will dial those in better tomorrow. I will be in racer mode.

I think for tomorrow I will stay at 5 in the front and 2 in the rear.

The story will be updated tomorrow after the race at HRP. Then again on Sunday after we race at TAD.

Maybe, I should change my sig. to read: Gone racen!

Seems that racing is addicting. Your car is very fast. 60 foots times are exceptional. Good luck in racing. Cheers.

awesome coach,

Since I'm still stuck at work ( going on 29hrs now ), and it looks like my relief is having problems making it in ( so I may be stuck a few more hours )... chances are super slim I'll make it out to the track today.

Good luck today!

Thanks everyone.

I will practise a 100 lights on my Pops practise tree this morning. There will be some very good drivers at the race today. I need to be on my game.

The weather looks good for the race today. The Hot Rod is prime and ready to kick major butt today.

More detail later tonight when I get back to Pops house after the race.

It was a good day at the track. I went to round number 4. I lost because the Hot Rod didn't run the number in this round, 11.48 on a 11.35 dial. I cut a 5.24 to a 5.28 light. (I do have to say that my lights were pretty good all day. Round #1 5.26, round #2 5.10, round #3 5.26 and round #4 5.24). I know, this was my worst run of the whole day. Best run today I think was a 11.36 at 121 mph.

I konw I had a new best in the 1/8 mile 7.26 at 95 mph. I think, can't remember right now, it is late and we are headed to TAD in the morning. Wait it is the morning, we are leaving at 7:30. Three hour drive back to our home track and maybe 1,000 in payout and a chance to pick up some major track points.

The Hot Rods new weight is 3195 without me in her. She was 3445 with me in her. This weight loss program should help when Thunder does more fine tuning in 2 weeks.(maybe sooner, still looking for high 10's in summer heat)

I do want to say thanks to Thunder Racing for a great Hot Rod.

More up dates tomorrow after I get home form TAD.

Night all.

This is the last update on the weekend of drag racing. We showed up at TAD and ran our 4 time trails. I was on the lights big time. 1st one 531, 2nd one 515, 3 rd 491 red light, and the 4th one 512. The bad news is they had to call off the race because of rain.

We are going to run the race next weekend. We will get our time trails again and then race for double track points and $1,000.00 to win.

The Hot Rod was on Sunday. I really felt that I was going to win this race.

We will give her a shot that next Sunday. I will report the results after the race.

You're deadly on the RT's Coach! It's funny you mention the practice tree b/c I have had a practice tree for 5 years from when I ran my Chevy II. I had the "buttons" for a trans brake setup, and I didn't know that they made a pedal for us footbrake racers! I was looking through Summit's Biondo products, and I came across the pedal. Mine will be here at the end of this week or beginning of next, so I'm going to run it like a crazy fool. Hopefully I'll be able to meet you out at the Motorplex for the July 4th "Night of Fire".
