Bears re-furbished S2 LS6 heads, just wanted to throw this one in too..

Found 3 bent valves upon disassebly and 3 other slightly tweaked ones so I decided to completly re-do them completly over again, there not cleaned up but you get the picture so-to-speak.
Joe.

Re: Darton Pix
Cool! Im pretty excited about this whole project, hopefully everything will work out.
As part of the project Im upgrading to a 232/236 cam and joe is re-porting my ARE stage 2 heads, to make them into JPRish stage 3. Hopefully Ill have some kickass numbers in a couple of weeks!
We originally planned on an LA sleeved 382 with a 4.1" bore, but I twisted Joe's arm a bit into doing the dartons --this is going to be a 387 with a 4.125" bore.
No cage yet in the car, I probably wont get many passes without it. The car is already kinda a boat at just over 3600 pounds with me in it (and thats with lightweight rims and skinnies).
Barry thanks for the pics.

Joe,
Is this the first try at the Darton sleeves? I am interested in getting a block built with those sleeves if you could pass on some info it would be great.

Re: Darton Pix
Ezss, that's very similar to the combo that ARE is building for me right now. A 393 All Bore, with the same 232/236 cam I was running in the stock block. 4.100 bore x 3.72 Stroke
Mine should be done by the end of next week. I'd like to compare # and track times, to see how close we are.
Looks good Joe.

Re: Darton Pix
Hey Phil97,
I had 4 dry sleeved blocks prepared and had a bad experience with the first one right out of the machine shop, come to find out it was only the Cometic head gaskets leaking after 2 sets on the same motor, Sooo, I was contimplating the Darton system, then read some bad rumors about them online that ended up to be untrue. "Ezss" Eric and I spoke at length on the phone about how I would go about doing future all bore blocks and I was just about to give up on them after investing close to 11G's into the dry sleeve set-up for what I though was a loss of blocks/labor/sleeves at the time.. (because I was almost convinced the dry sleeved blocks were leaking.. NOT the case) Anyway, Ezss convinced me to speak to the people at Darton and get some feed back before I give up, I have had nothing but great input from them, they are very eagar to answer all my questions to the letter, and they backed phone conversations with technical content e-mails and phone numbers to reach there design Techs at (I'm inquisitive to a fault) . I have 3 Darton system blocks now that are in various stages of build/boring/delivery and I feel very comfortable with my pursuaded decision! No doubt I can build a motor, it's just I don't need pre-existing problems before hand. Ezss's motor will show very nicely and I learned a couple things on the way to his build, like... use bigger cams to avoid too low of peaks!
