Just outta curiosity...
[gripe] where the hell did all this stage1, stage2, stage 11tybillion terminology come from? I have my bud talking about getting stage 2 exhaust for his 3rd gen Eclipse, another friend talking about getting stage 3 turbo kit for his SRT-4, I'm looking at stage 2 heads from patriot perfromance... So like is there a rhyme and reason to this nomenclature? could I walk into a store and order stage 27 heads or is this just some naming trend that sold things well, and lots of companies followed suit? and do stage 2 heads from partiot differ from stage 2 heads from another company? what the hell makes them stage whatever. :squint:

its specific to the company, each company likes to sell you packages in stages, like for beginners you get stage one, when your ready you upgrade to stage 2, its another way for them to make more money.

Its really from video games, espesially GranTourismo.
There is a whole new market of buyers that started out with cars in video games. The industry just picked up their nomenclature. A "Stage 2" package from company "A" may be completely different from a "Stage 2" package from company "B".
