Default Anyone worry about Metco valve cover breather...

Ingesting water or water entering the engine?

I have one of the valvcover breathers in replace of my original oil cap and I noticed that in heavy rains and thunderstorms than when I finally quit driving and pop the hood there is water drops on top of the breather and water on the rest of the engine as well.

I am just curious if anyone thinks or knows if anyone has had any problems with water getting through into the engine. Thanks

If it even got a bit of water into it, (which would put it in the oil), it would evaporate almost immediately from the temperature of engine inside.

You could pour a table spoon full or water into the oil and it would evaperate out in a few minutes time and never hurt a thing.

Sounds like a different problem to me. You have water droplets all over the engine as well........that dont sound right. In all heavy rains here in Chicago Ive never had any problems with my breather or having water all over the engine. Have you modified your air dam or any of its plastic pieces? You may be sucking mists of water up into the compartment when it rains. I dont know though! I dont think its a breather problem at all. Good Luck
