Here's a list off the top of my head...tranny, coverter, flexplate, dipstick, cooler, lines, cross member, driveshaft, torque arm, shifter. That's all I can think of off hand. The swap isn't really that bad. Post up if you have any questions.

1) my CK Performance th400 built trans. w/ converter (2800-3200 depending on motor) $800 r/o - built to handle 550rwhp/600rwtq.
2) LS1 A4 flywheel
3) LS1 A4 x-member, can be converted with a small plate welded on
4) drive shaft shortened...

...might be 1 or 2 other things, it's fairly simple. Most of the bolt holes line up on the th400 bellhousing but a few vendors make an adapter plate that's a true bolt-up.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have a TH350and 400. I was thinking of a swap too. What would it cost to do this if I already had a trans? Does anyone sell a kit? Can I find some of these parts in a salvage yard? Do I need a custom driveshaft?
Thanks.

I just swapped by M6 for at TH-400.

I got my complete kit from MadMan. He uses the TrannyKing's TH-400 and stall. The Kit include tranny, converter, drive shaft, cooler, lines, flex plate.

Things that had to be considered:

1) Manual shift body
2) Reverse shift
3) Trans brake
(mine came with all these)
4) TQ arm - M6 tranny has TQ arm attached to it - the TH400 has no provision for this - either you'll have to modify your present AFTERMARKET T/A or buy one that will have its own mounting point
5) Cross member - you can just modify your M6 cross member by adding a "cunk" of metal between the tranny and x-member
6) Shifter - I went with the Turbo Cheetah - by the way a sweet little shifter
7) Stall - you need to think out if you want a street/strip, street, or drag only set up. Mine is basically a drag only - I stalled mine way to low and will be having it re-stalled from 4000 to 4800 "soon".
8) Speed-o - I don't need one - and the TH-400 doesn't come with one - you'd have to buy a separate kit

Call MadMan - a little pricey but well worth the price for the best. Brian is outstanding to work with

Good Luck in your swap. You'll miss the M6 but at the race track nothing can beat consistency.

David

*** By the way I did not have to change the PCM except to remove a couple of speed-o codes

Bad, i know speed inc does a kit for a swap. the trany i believe is the most$$$$$ part.
I will miss the 6 speed, i know that, but it is so hard on the car and drive train that with my plans an auto is the way to go.
John, i have EAST SIDE PERFORMANCE doing the swap with me. they get Huge's (sp) for good prices and i have a ds already for it.
Im selling my tranny and tq arm now and ordering an extrem duty from speed inc and will make that one work with the new set up.

I have a BMR torque arm that mounts to a cross member on mine.
The one thing that you'll notice the most is the lack of overdrive. With a 4.10 rear, I avoid highways like the plague. You may also want to think about picking up a mechanical to digital speedo kit. I've sweat bullets when Johnny Law follows me through the neighborhood and I have no idea how fast I'm going.

Cool, i have 3:73 with a 27" tire so i shouldnt be to bad, i wont want long highway trips, but it should be ok for short 60mph trips.
As for a speedo, who has one? How would it install? do i need the gear? Ken from ESP might have it all set up for me, i'll have to ask, but if he doesnt i need to know. I do need a speedo. My car sticks out like a terd in a punch bowl, so speed is importiant.
