Default Trans mount

Whats so special about the 98 camaro trans mount that no one carries it....

ended up getting a univ. energy syuspension .. and now the car vibrates like crazy intrerior rattles and car gets all kinds of false kr... only reason i put it in was the dealer was open today and it was completly ripped in half.. so looks like ill be pulling this one out and getting a stock one tomorrow.

any ideas why it's vibrating so bad?

The harder polyurethane ones do not absorb vibrations nearly as well as the softer rubber ones. But, the poly ones are much more durable and prevent the tranny from moving, which will help you transmit more torque to the rear end.

But, like most mods, there is a trade off involved. More durability, and unfortunately more road noise and vibration.

The '98 tranny mounts aren't anything special, any 98-02 will fit.

the rubber mounts they gave me were either 2 bolt lower or didnt work with stock hardware and looked nothing like that and the holes wouldnt line up on the trans its self... none of them showed one for a 98 not even napa.... so they were giving me 99up mounts from the computer... this isnt a light vibration.. i have the same mount in my truck and i didnt feel a diffrence... it so bad the whole car shakes 6-7* of kr @ wot...

The poly mounts may need to be shimmed or
have the shim washers left off, to get the
tailshaft angle (counterpart to pinion angle)
right. Too high and it will add vibration & scrub
to the tailshaft U-joint. If you used the washer
or plate that came with the mount, try taking
it out and see if things improve vibe-wise.

Search it up in the Automatic Transmission
section for much more info.

You need to grind the hump off the ES mount to get it to work right. If you didn't grind the hump off that is probrably what's causing all the vibration. I didn't use the plate either.
