I am going to go to Rockingham on the 17th. I have a 2800 stall Yank and TSP 224R cam with LT's. I just got a set of 275/40/17 Nitto drag radials. I have launched on F-1's and pulled a 1.78 60'. I rolled into the throttle.

Questions:

1. Should I roll through the water box or go around?

2. How long should I spin the tires?

3. Should I just stomp the gas or stall it up?

4. If I just floor it will I blow the tires or will Nittos handle it.

I don't know if this helps or not but, my rwhp is ~365 and my rwtq is ~420 @ 2800 rpms.

1- rolling through the waterbox is still a matter of yoru front tires. as long as you have radials of any kind of front, go around and back into it for yourburnout. Back in the box. turn the tires over once quick to get them wet, pull to the very edge of the box and do your burnout.

2- nittos need to be hot to hook. put the psi on 17" ones at 18 HOT and do a nice healthy burnout.

3 and 4- You will need to play with it, just like any other time you make a change to a car. Remember these are still 17" radials, they just are made of a softer compound and have a different tread pattern that will hook hard once you find the sweet spot. I personally say start by doing what you did on your street tires and see how the car reacts, don't try to change yoru driving on "assumptions" or guesses, do it based on trial and error to find what works best. good luck:)
