Car running hot.
Im not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but my car seems to be running rather hot. On saturday I scanned my car with HPTuners ( ) and the ECT read 223* after sitting for a while, the car has stock fan settings/T-stat, but that still seems rather hot. We took it for a drive, and it dropped down to ~210-215. Is it normal for these cars to reach temps of almost 225*? I plan to buy a 160* T-stat and reprogram the fans, other than that are there other things to help keep the car running cooler? Thanks.

Factory fan settings:
Fan 1 on/off at: 227°F/218F°
Fan 2 on/off at: 235°F/228F°
As you can see, the factory fans are set to run hot...probably for emissions reasons, since you have HP Tuners, you can program them to come on at the following temps:
- Optimum settings for stock 195° thermostat
Fan 1 on/off at: 209°F/200°F
Fan 2 on/off at: 219°F/210°F
Fan 1 on/off at: 227°F/218F°
Fan 2 on/off at: 235°F/228F°
