HPTuners hands down. scanner and logger in one. no vin locks, dont have to pay 200 for every new pcm you license. Flash/read times are 1000000000000000000000% faster. Nice recovery feature jsut in case you trash your PCM and the list goes on

^^^^ what he said
The support for HP Tuners is awesome... and the number of people switching to it or aquiring it for the first time is growing faster and faster.
Read times are just 2.5 minutes or so compared to LS1 Edit which is 15 minutes or so
Write times are 30 seconds, compared to 3-5 minutes for LS1 Edit
HP Tuners has PCM recovery so there are no worries about flashing the PCM on the side of the road and taking off after
Plus HP Tuners is a scanner and flasher and editor all in 1 package, so no need for autotap or another scanner software... it's an all in 1 package... very nicely made

Since they were not willing to do competitive upgrade (us already with LS1Edit), I decided to wait for EFILive's FlashScan. It appears those of us who already own EFILive will be able to get it cost-effectively AND have the time-proven scanning software.
It supports USB also. Software updates that fixes bugs and minor enhancements will be free. No 6-month subscription fees. It appears they know how to write software that complies with industry standard practices for individual users.

Personally, I'm gonna wait and see about that;
I own both current products and though EFILive
still has a "better" scanner in terms of coverage,
for what I do I've had no needs that HPTuners'
scanner hasn't been "good enough" for, over
many months now of messing around. For me it
will come down to licensing, parameter access
and price. But since I have a "bird in the hand"
now, I can wait for some other folks to go beat
the bushes for a while when EFILive FlashScan
finally hits the street.

Bug fixes are free with HP Tuners.
Our scanner is undergoing major development and I can assure you it will be one of the more powerful scan tools you will find out there. It won't be released in version 1.4 but should be released shortly after.
