Default leather steering wheel falling apart

Did anyone else's leather on their steering wheels become extremely worn down to the point you can notice a difference? I just bought my Z two days ago and it really bothers me to the point where I want to do something about it. Has anyone ever replaced there steering wheel because of this?? How much does something like this cost?? Thanks for the help guys, and the LS1 is one amazing engine.

I dont have any problems with mine.

You dont have to replace the steering wheel. You can cover it.

While your at it, you can get a matching shift boot:

(not mine, although I do have a black leather shift boot on my auto)

Just go to the dealer and buy a new one.....you will thank yourself later rather than putting a half assed cover over it.

Maybe you can get a 'full assed' cover. But I agree, the steering wheel is already a little 'thick' for my taste and sometimes them covers don't look so sweet- but I'll bet a new wheel ain't cheap.

That is not where I got mine, but I did provide a link (above) where you can get the one from AfterThoughtsAuto.

I just bought a $30 leather shift boot from a local auto store.

Here is a thread where I explain how I installed it and if you want to replace the **** as well:
