Reading timing on efilive Quick question to be sure I am reading it correctly. This is for v5. I would assume v6 is same ? I just got the key this morning.
If I am logging timing, and knock, I need to subtract the knock from the reported timing to get what the car is actually seeing ?

The reported Timing is the actual timing delivered via the PCM. If Knock Retard occurs then the scanned KR value will increase and you'll see a decrease in your timing values for those frames. It's pretty neat to watch - I think so anyway. Modern electronics are amazing.
