Pics of new wheels on my 35th
After two years, I finally got some new rims for my 35th.
I picked up two sets of gunmetal Z06 rims (17x9.5 and 18x10.5) that were off of GM test cars from the Proving Grounds. Unfortunately the outter lip on all the rims were very badly beaten up.
Anyways, I had the tires peeled off of one set. I took them home put them in the rear of my car, and let it idle while I used sand paper around the lip. After quite a bit of work I got the lip to quite a nice polish Once I was done polishing the lips, I got 275/40/17 KDWs put up front and 315/30/18 BFG drag radials in the back.
It took some banging of the rear wheel well to get the 18s to fit but it wasnt too bad.
Let me know what you guys think

Those are nice wheels but I think I would stick with the 35th stock wheels. Id get the back wheels widened. Ive seen one set of the 35th wheels widened and they looked good

I liked the 35th wheels too, but there are several other 35ths in the area and I wanted to be different. And it was just time for a change and I picked these up for a decent price
I'm running the BFGs at 29 psi when they're hot. They hook pretty good, but not quite as good as my Nitto DRs (on 17 inch rims) I had on before. But I was running the nittos as 20psi so I think I'm going to drop the BFGs down some more and I think that will help out quite a bit. They are definately way better than any normal street tire though.

I think a lot of the reason these dont look so good in the pics is because they look really light. In person they are quite a bit darker and look much better IMO.

i would take those 35th rims over z06 rims any day. i think you should go back to them, for sure for starters, the consensus is that the 35ths would look better. for seconds, everyone has z06 rims. you can't be unique with those. for thirds, hardly anyone has 35th rims. stock or not, they are very unique. put em back on and sell the z06s

I doubt I'm going to put the 35th rims back on. Everytime my friends see a 35th they automatically assume it me and most of the time its not. I want my 35th to be unique from everyone elses. I know a lot of people have z06 rims, but around here most dont. And I know no one has gunmetal z06 rims with a polished lip
