New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Pregapped Bosch Platinum II

A while back I installed pregapped bosch platinum IIs. Theyre the ones with the dual tips on them. I never checked the gap before I installed them :emb: . I was told by the store that there is no need to worry because with this type of plug its almost impossible to throw the gap off. Is this true? Maybe something to do with the dual tips?

Take those things out and trash them. Order a set of NGK TR55's from one of our sponsors.

All the Bosch stuff is totally overpriced and not really worth the money.

Its true, you cannot gap the +2's or +4's.

Phew! The reason I was asking because I didn't want to have to take them out again- they took forever to replace!

I think I'll get 10,000 miles out of em' first before I replace them

Take them out ASAP! Bosch plugs are the biggest POS plugs out on the market today, nothing but way overpriced junk. I had a set in my car when I bought it and after about 2k miles in the car, it had a horrible misfire. Went to TR55's and haven't had a problem since.

Bosch likes to claim that you don't have to gap their plugs, because you can't. That's fine if you get lucky and you need whatever gap they gave them at the factory. LS1s hardly ever run well on Bosch plugs. I'm not going to tell you to remove them as long as you don't have misfire problems, but I will say that you should switch to AC delco or better yet NGK plugs next time around.
