Default Technical dusscusion on split pattern cams

I'm trying to decide on a solid roller grind for my stroker. I've talked to a couple of shops and I'm confused. What effect does the size of the split have on the powerband. I.E. a 231/237 v.s. a 231/234 for example? 222/230 v.s. a 224/228?

Duration split is determined by the effiecency at which the induction system and exhaust system can fill and remove air fron the engine at a given rpm range. Since the LS1 has inherently very good exhaust ports, the duration on the exhaust lobe does not need to be inhanced as with older series GM engines.
