Default swapping oil pick up tube...

What is the easiest way to do this? I just saw that the tube bolts on to the oil pump, so if I unbolt the pan and pull the timing cover will that give me enough room to pull it and isntall a new one? or do I still have to lift the engine / drop k member to gain enough space?

The tube also bolts on to the windage tray that is in the middle of the oil pan location.

You have to remove the oil pan to replace the pickup tube.

Take out the motor mount bolts, lift the engine at the tranny/bellhousing as high as it will go and then lower the k-member and you can get out the pan. I just did this on a buddy's Z28 a few weeks ago.

Yes. We did this exact procedure with the timing cover on.

yea I did it last night. I simply unbolted the motor mounts, lifted the motor by the crank pulley, unbolted the k member and pulled it down at the same time as I removed the pan, didn't even remove the shock bolts fromt he struts. Was alot easier then anticipated.

thnks guys
