Default Max bore on stock LS1 block

How much material can be taken out of the stock sleeves? Any comments would be appreciated.

I am not a pro. but the reading I have done rcomend only .010 that is it. If you can see any marks in the cylender wall you probably will not be able to remove it.

That's correct for his 2000 LS1.

However, for a 97 or 98 block, .003 over is the max you can go because the sleeves were thinner for those two years.

You CAN go 0.010" but that’s getting really thin. 0.005" is the most I would feel comfortable doing (and I still don't like that).

Darton wet sleeves are the shiznit.....only way to go (I think)
