Default rattling noise help !!

Not sure where to put this question so will start here.
Anyway, I have a Loudmouth exhaust on my car and lately it is beginning to bounce on some cross brace and make an annoying rattling sound. Was woundering if the cross brace was important or can i take it off to fix problem? The cross brace is right under the center consel and looks like it is just there to support the orginal exhaust. Have already trying grinding it down and having the exhaust adjusted.
Thanks for the help.

I took that brace off a LONG time ago. If you don't want to take it off, you can try putting some washers between the brace and the body to space it down some.

Cool. Have you notice any saggging in your exhaust or anything like that?

What cross-brace are you talking about?
Is it over the rear axle?
If soo, that supports the PHB mount (at least that is what was discussed in the Handling & Braking section)

No sagging in the exhaust. I don't think its there for support of the exhaust as metal to metal= rattling...as your are having now. I think its actually called a tunnel brace. I am not sure of what real function it has. But this is my second f-body and I took it off of both with no ill effects. I also know alot of people that took theirs off as well since some, if not all, of the aftermarket exhausts tend to rub against that piece.

VIP1- This isn't the PHB, this is a thin, mostly flat stamped brace that is directly under your seats on the bottom of the car.

my catback did the same thing. itook wooden shims and pushed them below or above the rubber part of the hanger or bracket works great.
