Default diesel powered 02 z28?

i have a 2002 z28 and when i start it cold or after it has ran for a while it has a ticking noise , sounds like the lifters, that is driving me crazy! i took it to the dealer and they said that it is "normal". i dont think so, my dad has a c5 corvette and his doesnt make noise anything like mine. how can i adjust the valves to check it, is it just like any other hydraulic cam chevy " zero lash plus a half a turn" im no rookie when it comes to adjusting valves, but these late models are new to me. any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

i had the same thing, the loud ticking noise coming from my passenger side. I got new pushrods, hoping htat would be the problem. Now that the valve cover is off, it ended up being the rocker arms.
