A4 shifter won't go into park!

A4 shifter won't go into park! Put my car into park in the staging lanes at the track once and was in drive until after my run. I went to go park it and it wouldn't go back into park. The shifter will act normal and move thruogh all the gear but just won't go into park. Did a search and conldn't find any info on this subject. Has anyone had this problem?
