Default fan mod wiring question

I am setting up a switch to manually turn on my fans based on the method on this page http://users.oco.net/xero/fanmod/ . Basically, I'm tapping into the wiring harness on the passengers side and running the wires back through the firewall. I have spliced and soldered into the wiring harness and routed my wires, but I'm not sure how to wire the switch as I don't want to use LED lights. My guess is to wire the switch as in the diagram below minus the 12V from the cig lighter and just stopping the blue and green wires once they connect to the switch. Anyone done their fan switch like this or have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I did a little more research and decided to go ahead and wire the switch as in the attachment below.

Everything works fine. I really like this fan mod. I hid the switch in the ashtray. I wish I could find a really nice switch. Mine has a black plastic toggle, but it's a little longer than I want and looks a little goofy. Oh well, no once can see it in the ashtray.

Sounds like your going about it the hard way. I took out fan relay 1 and 2 and inserted a wire into pin 85 of both relays, ran the wires to a switch, then grounded it under the dashboard. I deleted the codes with HPtuners so it won't throw a check engine light.

I'm sure the kits are easier, but the work is fun to me. Working on my car is a huge stress relief for me. Plus......like to save a few $'s whenever possible.

Definately more fun to do it yourself. I spent 3 bucks total
