Default TR220/224 idle speeds in the A4's?

What do you guys with TR220's or TR224's in your A4's run for a idle speeds?

Would that be on a 112 or 114?

Thanks. Just trying to get a feel as to how much "room" I have to bump idle speed up to hide lope, without setting off any bells or whistles at the emissions place, dealer, those stealthy races, etc etc.

My idle is at ~650 and it still lopes...not a sleeper cam at all. I have the TR224-114 and I also have a 3500 stall...

That's what I thought too - The TR224 is not a sleeper. I still find a few people out there saying that you an bump the idle up and make the cam hard to detect. I think it's a... what do you call it - a "placebo effect", from all these other huge cams out there now.

650rpm is very respectable though. I'm not a fan of a high very high idle.

FWIW: The stall I'll be running is your typical SLP/Yank 2800 - it's just rated as a 2600 in a 5.3 truck application, and it's most commonly known as the "Yank 2600" in the truck world.

I have to have my idle at 1000 or I get a searching idle. And this is with tuning. Not much lopy sound with mine at this rpm.

Mine is on a 112 LSA.

Your right, idle speed has a big impact. At 650 rpm not many aftermarket cams are going to be stealthy.
With an M6, our cars do not idle that low, they idle around 800. At 800 rpm, the the TR 220 114 will be hard to detect. the 224 requires about an 850 rpm to hide it. With a low stall, I can see where an 800 rpm idle speed would be the max you would even consider.

i have a tr220@114lsa and the idle is a 675 rpms.it does lope a little.that's with a MW 3000 stall converter.it surges just a little when cold.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys.

Sounds like a TR220 might be the cam I'd look for, based on idle quality for my application.
