Thunder Shootout... 57 days and counting down!!!!!!
I've had e-mails from some heavy hitters in the Pro Outlaw and Pro Stock classes and It looks like old rivalries are are getting heated up again especially in Pro Outlaw. Alot of the EFI Renigade cars are looking at making the trip south. Also it's looks like Modified Stock auto and manual classes are shaping up into some great racing.
Great news!!!!!! The track is going to have their regular Friday night bracket race and also let the Shootout cars test and tune and enter the bracket race if they want. We will also tech at the track. Look for the schedule at ThunderShootout.com
Fridat night would be a great time to do a little grudge racing.

Re: Thunder Shootout... 57 days and counting down!!!!!!
I want to attend, but haven't made up my mind one way or the other yet... I don't know if I would try one of the classes or just bracket race. Modified Stock Auto seems like the logical class for my car, but I honestly don't know if I can find enough weight to make the car 3500lbs. or not.
That time of year looks to be pretty busy already race schedule-wise, and that's a heck of a tow for me...

I can't wait to see some of the cars I've been reading about in person. The Friday night session will be fun. I won't be able to run my car Saturday as I will be busy but I should get some passes in Friday night.

Re: Thunder Shootout... 57 days and counting down!!!!!!
Id really like to make this race but I have a feeling that I wont be able to.
Im still pretty far out and even when i get it done need license runs and more safety items which I have not purchased and will not have the $$ for before the race rolls around.
Not to say I wont find some extra $$ laying around between now and then which would help.
Im trying to make it.

I plan on being there. I should run a little quicker by then
PaiN is also making the trip. We are working on Raughammer. I figure a ton of Houston area guys will be there. This is THE event everyone has been gearing up for, this year.
Next season you need to have a 3500 lb big-motor class for the street cars with cubes. Not every 400+ci car is a gutted trailer queen

I'm steering myself towards the Pro Stock class .
I think the Modified Stock Automatic Transmission Class should have been <362ci like I had for NFRA. <400ci is going to make it a 372-393ci stroker class for sure. Any 350 what was .060 over is a rebuild but not a full on stroker.
I've been shooting for 3400 raceweight but I guess I will strip the car more and run collector mufflers.
