Mine are set @ 4 on the rear (which is pretty stiff).

If I use this key, I have used 10-12 in front, and 5/7 in back and I did try 6/9 in back too but the tires were not good enuff to hook the car.

fully counter clock wise is usually considered position number 1 and it is completely loose.
Position 12 clock wise is hard as a nail.

I set mine 2 on the front and 3 on the rears.

It all depends on track prep also.
you adjust it like tire pressure.
If your hooking,it's really not that important.

I usually go 1-2 on the fronts
2-3 on the rears.

What's everyone's best 60 ft and average 60 ft?

Col is that rear 2/3 from the loosest? or the tightest?

My best is 1.51 but my average on good days has been 1.53. That was 1/1 in front and no hal's in back, airbag in right/rear at 15.

PSJ,
My best 60ft is 1.52 and average 1.55 to 1.56. We are working on the problem with the 60fts. We should be better real soon.

John, set them at 2 in both fronts and 3 in both rears. I saw the way you rear suspension is setup, you will dead hook.

Minty, yeah all I need is to get the front mount of the torque arm off the tranny and I'll be happy...

I have

Hal front shocks
Hal front springs
Hal rear shocks
Stock 99 rear springs
Airlift airbag
RT tq arm
Poly trans mount bushing
Alston LCA's
Alston SFC's
Hotchkiss PHB

Am I misreading? some folks say do LOOSE and some say stiff in back.

I know that JayB would run even stiffer springs in back than stock and he said the stiffer the better.

I don't know if you should set the right rear stiffer since you have an air bag.(?)
probably set the fronts at 2 (run it all the way to the left, then right one click)
and the backs at 3(2 clicks)
That is a good starting point.
I feel every car is different(because of weight)
My car lauches NOTHING like a heavier car w/ more power but produces
better(or same)ET's.It's a learning process.
On the street I run 3/3 for just cruising. It feels about stock.Go figure.
But my car is under 3000 w/o me.

Hoping to run my car a few times next week on 28x10.5x15 Hoosier slicks... with QA1(Hals) on front and back, stock springs in back.

I was thinking 2/2 front, and 5/7 rear.

A strange thing occured the last time at the track which still has me puzzled. The 1st run of the day I nailed a 1.52 60' and right after i received the time slip I remembered that I forgot to set the front shocks to my usual 1 or 2. They were set at 9 so I figured I'd go to the pits set down to 2 and maybe finally get into the 1.4x's. Didn't happen , I tried 1,2,3, and 6 the rest of the day, all elese being equal, and still could not produce the same or better than the 1.52 I had w/ them set at 9.

later,
Steve

I tried mine at 2/2 on the front once, and the car bounced too much. Maybe I'm heavier up front than you guys tho.. Used to get best results at 4/4, but now with a little lighter front - it's 3/3.

On the back: 3/5 to 2/4 depending on track prep.

Question - Anyone using anything to limit suspension(front) travel? I'm seriously thinking about the kit JEG's sells because I feel I'm losing some 60' effeciency there. My best ever is a 1.62, but I'm normally in the high 1.6's.

I consider the loosest position to be 1. So, in the front I was running them 1 click from loosest (2).

John, I know youre listening to everyones opinions. Why dont you try what I told you about the 2s in the front and 3s in BOTH rears and let me know what happens. You know I have an idea of what I am talking about, we have similar suspension setups so I should have a clue as to what would happen.....Launch the slicks at 16 PSI also......You will hook, if you dont, let me drive it

I always thought that if you turn all the way to the left, that if you click 1 to the right it is set at 1. Isn't this the case?

Hey 1.3-1.4 A4 Peeps How you set your rear shocks? Set em'? Heck, they are still the stock ones... no adj.

I like to keep it simple.

Dang those HAL's are expensive.

Good luck (money bags)
