I am looking to wake up my auto 98 Trans am a little. I was thinking of doing any 2 of the following please let me know what you think.
Torque converter- TCI street fighter 3500
Headers
Ls6 intake manifold
Mild cam
Keep in mind I drive this on the street as well as the track.
Any input and thoughts would be appretiated.
THanks

The TC will probably give you the most notable difference.
Headers are always a good choice, especially if you plan on a cam.
LS6 intake done alone wont gain you much but will add a significant difference if you have a cam, headers, ect ect.
Mild cam wont gain you anything witout headers. Also with a cam, even a mild one you are goins to want to change the springs, retainers, so on and so on.
Personally if I had to chose two of those mods I'd go with the TC and the headers. They are both good "starter" mods and will benefit you down the line when you continue to mod your car.
Happy Modding!

Go for the TCI 3500. There is a great group purchase plan going on with www.thunderracing.com.

Absolutely get a converter first if you want performance. However, you have to have a cat-back first IMO in order to wake up the sound a little. I got headers/duals the year before I got my converter and personally I'm glad I did it that way, it just sounds so badass!! Either of those two would be my vote. You should get headers and a converter before you get a cam. Trust me/us on this, I would have a cam by now but you need headers/converter for it to work properly and anywhere NEAR potential.

converter b4 you do anything. then headers. and if you can manage to scrape together some change get a tune bcuz you will need to lean out the A/F a bit and can change some of the setings to maximize the use of the TC.

Lid/Catback/subframes
Then i'd hit up the converter and probably some drag radials.

Don't forget to get a tranny cooler with the TC install. Inexpensive and necessary for the life of your tranny.

Converter first and foremost. You will see atleast a .5 reduction in your timeslip.
Second, I would go with headers and ORY. OR, if you have enough money, you could do mild cam first then headers down the road.

There is some good advice. Further up I said to get a converter and then headers....but I forgot about the simple things and just jumped in with the converter that others had suggested. A lid and a cat-back or cutout are awsome bang for the buck and subframe connectors are something that a lot of people seem to wait and do later only to realize that they really should be a first mod.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on headers?

Kooks are the only way to go with headers. Check out TTP, they are a sponsor and have the best price I could find.
