Default Put on the 28" slicks, now ABS light and Low Trac...

I slapped on the MT ET Drags, 28x10x15 and before I was even backed out of my driveway I got an ABS INOP light and as I drove down the block and stepped on the brakes, the Low Trac light came on. I'm kind of uneasy about making some runs tomorrow. Any one else encounter this with the big 28" slicks. What do I do, ignore the ABS and Low Trac lights????? Help??

that is 100% normal. it is becuase the computer senses the front and rear wheels are moving at different speeds (ofcourse since that back is BIG). happens everytime you launch and esp when braking. also happens on the dyno. it is all about the different speed of the wheels.

dont worry.

It's because the front and rear tires are differant diameters.

My ABS light is always on, but my 12-bolt is not setup for abs.

As long as the abs dose not come on when you brake you'll be fine.

First off-GIMP^,in your sig-You own a camAro,not a CamEro.

Big Mike-my car does that sometimes, but usually 'fixes' itself rather quickly.ABS INOP
light will come on and the ASR light,(I can't turn the ASR on or off,it's just stuck)
Then it turns off after a couple minutes.I wouldn't worry too much.

Hey Joel.. I belive Big Mike plans on making a few passes on spray. The great thing about Westhampton is that on fridays you can make 15-20 passes with no problems .. So we will get to do some real good T&T. So between his tires and Mine which are 26x10x15 et-drags We should be able run NA and on the juice.

I also want to dial my car in with the Hals and the et-drags .. Who knows maybe if the weather is good I might see a new best today

Joel,

Like Pete said... A few passes NA to get the feel of the car, then put a couple 100 shots through her

Absolutely Jason! I specifically went with forged internals so I can put a 200 shot through it and sleep at night (well, not sure how well I could sleep), but at least close my eyes, LOL. This is the first time out with the new setup, and my first time ever running nitrous. We'll see how it goes...

Well... Out of 4 runs, 1 was a complete pass There seems to be something going on with the tranny/clutch. I haven't figured it out yet. The complete pass was an 11.97 at 118 mph(NA). Going to look into adjusting the clutch and putting the Synchro Mesh fluid in the trannt this week. I'm going to give it another shot at E-town Friday night.
