Default rear end went bye bye!

well the Ring/pinion went i think. i just nailed it from a stop and BOOM!!! the rear locked up and wouldnt move. i shut the car off, looked under neath an the rea end was leaking fluid. the tow-truck guy was a mechanic and said it looks like the ring and pinion went out. soooo its over at APE and hopefully they can figure it out. if it is the ring and pinion what gears can i get that will be strong?? (motive richmond GM) and what would be a good macth up with my converter? i could go back to the 323's but maybe try 342 or 373?

all suggestions welcome!

from the stuff i've seen and been told(not from personal experience), if you have the stock rear, because it's only a 7 3/4, it doesn't matter what brand you put in there the time is limited due to the small size......but i'm sure somebody else has more experience than i do on that......otherwise the ape guys i'm sure will stear you in the right direction....

that probably had a lot to do with it....the stock 10-bolts are known to be weak, and adding traction doesn't help matters any

I would suggest you save up for the 12-bolt. The drag radials did it... and it sounds like you won't stop using them. Don't waste your money on more 10-bolt crap...
