HELP ASAP!! Valve dropped
A friend was doing the 1.6 rocker install, and got to doing the first cylinder. It have it at TDC for piston #1. When removing the valve seal, the valve fell down to where i can see it, but i just can't pull it up. It's about 1/4 inch from the top of the valve guide in. I need to know what I can do to get this back up. Please anyone who knows, please reply quick!

Re: HELP ASAP!! Valve dropped
We tried that and it doesn't work. And we tried a larger magnet and it won't come up. And we tried the compressed air through the spark plug hole. But thanks for your help. Anyone else got any suggestions?

Re: HELP ASAP!! Valve dropped
The magnet probably doesnt work because I think the valves are stainless. If you can somehow adapt a shop vac down to a small enough hose, you may be able to suck it out. Otherwise try a piece of double sided tape on a little screwdriver. Good luck.

Re: HELP ASAP!! Valve dropped
if the valve steam is still in guide take out other spark plugs and try to turn over motor by hand maybe it would push it up far enough to get ahold of it.

That was it. we already had the plug out so we just turned the crank and it pushed it right up. I guess we didn't have it at tdc. what a sigh of relief!
