Default Who's done hood pins? George C?

What is your setup? Already have the "lighter" hood (WS6). Was thinking about eliminating to hood release up front, but wondering what will hold the front fascia up?

We use DZUS fasteners and delete the hood release. The front facia actually bolts to the headlite bracket.

I know there are two bolts attaching the hood latch section to the front fascia, but I think they are to holf the latch in place, not vice-versa.

How much weight does this save?

Ditto... The hood latch has nothing to do with the front fascia. At least not on the Camaro...

I used Moroso aluminum pins instead of the dzus fasteners due to the rubber fenders on the f-body. I've heard it takes a lot of work to make the dzus fasteners work right. I don't know how true that statement is, though.

I have 8 pins in mine; 2 in the front, 2 on each side, and 2 in the rear.

Thanks guys! May see if my local shop has some pins I can use. The main thing is I want to get rid of the front hood latch. Not so much for weight, but for my Frankenstein Cold Air Kit I am developing

Since my front license plate area is already wide open (used to have intercooler there), I am going to fab a ram air duct that captures air from that entire opening and channels it directly into the intake. Not sure if it will be sealed yet. May put a few holes in there for water escapeage.

The big weight savings comes from the hood itself.

That setup of Larry's is pretty gnarly I somehow missed it when it originally aired. Anyone know if he is still using the setup and what the results were?

Larry?
