Default TSP 231/237, is this a street cam

hey whats up? i have been looking at cams, all different kinds. i have heard some good things about the TSP 231/237. i have also heard it. it sounds like a pretty big cam and i was wondering if u guys think that it will be acceptable for the street. i will only be driving my car on the weekends not everyday. i have also been looking into turbo kits for my Z28. will a turbo and this cam work together? Thanks

This cam is a good street cam... I love it!

I would not use this cam with a turbo setup, however... you'll want to look at a reverse split cam with around a 115 lsa for a turbo.

It is awesome street cam. I recommend 410 gears though. I currently have 342 gears and getting a rear soon. It falls on its face a little when you drive with this gear but I have 10k miles on my car with this cam and I turn heads everywhere and it pulls crazy.

Very streetable... I'm running it on the canned Predator tune while I wait for a custom tune to be built, and it drives just fine. Very liveable for the size...

If you're talking about valvetrain reliability, I'd say this cam is very friendly for that... the lobes aren't very aggressive, so it won't stress the springs too badly.

How would you describe a TR224/224 or a TSP 225/225. I hope these are good picks due to the fact that i don't want a really stealthy cam...but one where you would notice just a little ....A "hummm i'm not sure if that's stock or not but if i had to take a guess ..i'd say NOT Stock" CAM...LOL THX~!

Not very agressive??
They are between XE and XE-R.
If you post your cam card and it has lifts at .006 I'll tell you what the ramp rate are and exactly where it falls.

I just heard a car with a TR224 (114 LSA) cam yesterday... we parked our cars together and standing outside I couldn't hear his car over mine. So I'd say it's much more stealthy or along the lines of "not sure if it's stock, but I'd guess probably not" type of cam.

The 231/237 is an over-the-top, oh my god what the hell is wrong with that car type of cam.

Yep, it's relatively slow roller compared to a lot of other cams out there... not a lot of extra valvetrain noise at all, at least compared to more aggressive cams I've heard.

Between an XE and XE-R is actually pretty slow by today's standards... all the most popular "new" cams seem to be an XE-R, or more aggressive than that these days.

It does create extra valvetrain noise, but its not as bad as the bigger ramp cams We have alot of daily driver 231.237 customers, so I think you'll really like it On another note we also offer a complete mail order tune for it for $250!!

I have that 231/237 cam and I love it. I would recommend TSP's mail order tuning. My car runs perfect now. Thanks guys!
