Default comp cams XR269HR question

getting ready to buy a comp cams XR269HR as was wondering if anyone had run this .what kind of gains they got out of it and how much comp tuning did it require.Buying at a really good price and dont want alot of cam as this is a daily driver with and A4 and ST3500 stall with 3.23's.

That is a 216/220. .525/.532 114+4 lsa

With stage 1 heads and bolt ons Thunder racing has a graph of 402rwhp. One of the first proven mighty mouse cams. Cam only you should get around 370 horses with bolt ons.

I have this cam in my '99. Mikey tuned and dynoed 355 RWHP. I have a pulley, Lid w/ K&N, FLP's with hi-flow cats, M6, steel driveshaft, and 4.11 12 bolt.

If I were going to do it again, I would certainly go larger! Like the TR-224. Mikey can tune this one to idle almost like stock.

Just my .02

A Thunder 220 114 will make more overall power and have excellent manners due to their faster ramps.

I'm thinking I should get about 30 hp out of this cam right now I'm pushing 318-320 at the rear wheels with HPP3 tuning and a stock converter. So if I can do 350-370 rwhp with headers and stall I"d be happy.that should put me deep into the 11's in a heavy convertable with 3.23's as I dont want to take alot of weight reductions did that with my 01 SS it was fun but now just like to enjoy the sunny days driving with the top down and be able to beat most cars/trucks around here where I live.Poss head work later.

To date the car has gone 12.33@109 with just the ST3500 installed then tranny started slipping going into 3rd 60 ft was 1.69 which I know I can do better .

You will have converter locking/unlocking issues with the misfires that cam will cause. They are not real misfires, but your PCM will think they are. I ran that cam with a ST3500 and have a TR 220 114 now. Both cams are big enough to cause misfire detection. You will have to have your misfire tables edited to fix it.
