Question MAF Error ( On my conversion )

Well, Im confused. =) On my 97 Ls1 bird I am using a SLP Cold air intake for an LT1. I am getting a Low voltage from maf SES light and Im wondering if its because I have an LT1 elbow with the MAF after the 90º bend or if my MAF is bad.

I was thinking that since LS1s come with stait intakes - the fact that Im using the elbow which is causing the air to twist if its causing problems between the maf and how the air is getting to the motor. I want to get A Ram Air hood and get an LT1 ram air box. Or see if I can use an LS1 intake with the ram air hood, but I cant fit a stock LS1 air box under my hood. Any Ideas ? =

Measure the MAF output frequency (or look at it
with a scanner). A4 at idle should see something
like 2500Hz. Check that the MAF has its 12V,
ground and that the output signal is pulled up
to 5V, if you can.

Bent airflow should have only a few percent effect,
not code-setting magnitude.

The reason I say something to that extent Is because when I used to have a v6, I spent a lot of time on thoughs boards, and I know that if I would have removed the maf screen on my stlye intake it would throw a code because it needed to be straitened before entering the motor. But on the newer years with the LS1 style intake if the maf screen was removed there was no changes. But thanks for the ranges on the voltage I will try to check that.
