Default 13.2's @ 118.5 ... I am looking for some advice

Here's a summary of my last trip to the track on Friday night. I am looking for some feedback on;
1) with traction and a good 60' what do you think my car could run?
2) I am planning on getting 275-40/17 Nitto's, will my rear end be able to handle this? how about my clutch?
3) Aside from tires and more practice, what else can I do to help bring down my ET's?

The track: Napierville just outside Montreal... It rained for the better part of Friday and in the evening it was very humid and warm. They where not spraying any VHT and the overall track prep were the worst I have ever experienced. There were about 100 ricers and 20 RWD American cars and maybe 3 or so serious cars with slicks along with 15 bikes.

The car: This was my 1st time at the track with my FLP LT’s and cut-out. This is what my car currently looks like;
-02 M6 Z28, FLP LT’s & ORP’s, 3.5” elec cut-out with stock Z28 cat-back, lid+K&N+FTRA ram-air, de-screened MAF, ported throttle body, 160 stat, LS1 Edit tuned, B&M Ripper, SS 17’s w/F1’s, NOS 5177 100HP jet.
342.3RWHP & 360.6lb/ft on the motor
437.6RWHP & 527.7lb/ft on the spray

The numbers;

1st run, spraying from 3K rpm in 1st.
RT .314
60’ 2.286
1/8th 8.711
ET 12.975
MPH 116.226
I was pleasantly surprised with this run as it was my 1st sub 2.3 60’ and 1st sub 13sec pass with this car. Considering I have no purge and this was my 1st pass I was not expecting the NOS to hit too hard in 1st, boy… I was wrong. As soon as the window switch opened @ 3K rpm the shiftlight (set at 5.8K) immediately flashed. The tires continued to spins throughout 2nd and I did not get traction until halfway through 3rd. These cars never tend to run their best on the 1st run, so I felt there was more there.

2nd run, I decided to try activating the NOS in 2nd once I got traction.
RT .060
60’ 2.320
1/8th 8.906
ET 13.251
MPH 118.525
I was expecting a nice calm run until I hit it the switch in 2nd. Once again, I was wrong J 1st gear spun hard (worse than on the street) and 2nd spun as hard as my previous run. I was only able to activate the NOS once I got traction in 3rd. I was disappointed to see a 13.2X slip, but I was encouraged to see the 118.5mph trap speed. Keep in mind this was only spraying 3rd and 4th.

3rd run, I accepted that there was no way I was going to hook up on the spray and decided to try an all motor run
RT .271
60’ 2.462
1/8th 9.076
ET 13.643
MPH 106.785
I was so focused on making sure the NOS was closed that I did not bother turning off my AC or traction control. Talk about a wasted run L Funny thing here is that this about the same ET and MPH as my best pre headers run. Even though I was eliminated on this pass, there was a 1 time 5$ buy back allowed.

4th and final run, having messed up my last all motor run… I decided to give it another shot without the spray
RT .433
60’ 2.359
1/8th 8.978
ET 13.534
MPH 111.088
Talk about a bad RT, it was almost 10:30 and decided to take a nap J Once again, 1st and 2nd spun like mad… I was happy to see the 111.0MPH trap speed, as this is about 5MPH better than my pre-header best.

You have mid 11s in the car with traction and probably 120mph. Nice runs
You have high 12s on motor with traction or bottom 13s
Cheers,
Chris

You definately have a car capable of 11's. I would get a set of ET streets for just the track. I have a similer setup and the nitto's just aren't quite enough. But they are nice for every day driving if you don't want to be swapping tires all the time.

"I would get a set of ET streets for just the track."

Do you really think my stock rear end and clutch will hold up on the spray with ET Streets and 437.6RWHP & 527.7lb/ft ?

Better stay away from et streets on the stock driveline. In that case I would stay with nittos no doubt. I was always scared on my stock rear even with nittos that it wouldn't hold.

are you running stock gears?
With 3.42's you could run ET streets no problem if you launch half conservatively.
(Lift rapidly off the clutch while flooring the gas)
This preloads the drivetrain and you wont snap axles etc.
Good luck,
Chris

Yup, my rear is still stock with 3.42 gears. I am afraid with ET Streets that when my window switch opens @ 3K rpm the extra 175lbs of torque might be too much for the rear end to handle. If the rear does manage to survive, what will happen to my clutch? I think it may be wisest for me to hold off on the ET Streets until I get a 12 bolt and upgrade my clutch. At that point I will probably go with 4.10 gears and a 28" tall tire. I rather my ET suffer than I break my car, it's still a daily driver and can't really afford any 'unplanned' downtime.

Get those Nitto's you were talking about. Practice your launches. What is up with your reaction times?
With that MPH you should be mid 12s in a 6 spd. 6spds hve better MPH than autos.
