Default Carrier?
When I go to 3.73 gears from 2.73's, do I only need to get the ring and pinion only or do I also need a different carrier?

You can buy gears made for the 2.73 carrier. Richmond I know offers gears for both 2 and 3 series carriers I would assume other manufacturers would as well. I think the 2.73 carrier is the 2 series.
