Re: z28 vs. SS
Hi there, welcome to ls1tech! The stock Ls1 F-bodies M6s are good for an average or mid 13s say 13.2-13.7 @ 100-108mph, there have been some factory freaks with excellant weather turn 12.8-12.9. The key thing for online forums is don't believe everything you read! You will see guys claiming they dynoed 340RWHP stock and run 12.7@110 with an automatic, stock! Come on guys you all have seen posts like that. As far as Lt1s go, I would say they average 13.7-14.7 @ 96-104mph. LT1 maek their power on a completely different scale the the Ls1. Its pretty common to see a Lt1 pull a Ls1 out of the hole, due to its power band, but then the Ls1 blows past the Lt1. In a street-light battle(really short distance)I would bet my money on the LT1 with everything being equal!

Re: z28 vs. SS
Your topic is a little confusing (Z28 vs. SS), since what you're really asking about is LS1 vs. LT1...
Generally, all things being equal, the LS1 powered F-body will be ~.4-.5 seconds quicker (when comparing two bone stock cars). As always, that isn't always the case. I've seen LS1 cars at the track that couldn't even break into the 13's. On the other hand, I had a stock '93 Z28 a couple of years ago that ran 13.8x @ 99mph (completely stock).
Anyway, the LS1 is usually a little quicker stock vs. stock.

Take all BONE stock LS1 timeslips, average 'em up and you get about 13.5@105. Some go quicker, some go slower. They vary by weather and track conditions, by year model, and especially, by driver.
Take LT1s and do the same and I think you get about 14.1. IMO there is about 6 tenths difference on average.

And yes, this topic should be titled "LS1 v/s LT1." You can edit the title if you want to. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
