Default 6.0/5.3 Block Questions

What is the difference between the 5.3 and the 6.0 blocks that allow the 6.0 to be bored 4.0+ and the 5.3 only to be bored to 3.910?

Are the water jackets in the 6.0 block smaller allowing for thicker cylinder walls? The 5.3 and the 6.0 have the same dimensions except for cylinder bores, right?

And both blocks can except a maximum of 4.125 crank, right? Can this be done without block clearancing?

i am sure they are. kind of like the 305 vs the 350 blocks. you couldnt bore the 305 to a 4" bore because the walls would get to thin. 2 completely different blocks. it would be nice tho because 5.3 blocks are so much cheaper.

walls are too thin. A buddy of mine took his 5.3 to a machine shop and had it tested. Max bore was the 3.910. He tried but they do not make them to be opened up to a 4.0 +
