tranny temp gauge question
I am going to put a temp gauge in my tranny and I have a few questions. Do I need to get an electrical one or a mechanical one? On my factory tranny, where would I put the sending unit?

I would definitly go with an electric one. There is a threaded port on the drivers side of the tranny just above the shift linkage thats the easiest place to put the sending unit. Some people "T" into the tranny cooler line (line going to the cooler) and claim to get a more accurate reading. Either one should be fine.

I have mine in the threaded port on the driver's side of the tranny. It's a bitch to reach but you are able to get to it. My guage is electrical and it sits in the left most air vent. It's a perfect fit right there.

I put my tranny temp gauge in the vent closest to the window as I can't feel that vent anyways.
Also as far as accuracy. Mine is electric and installed into the port on the side of the tranny and it was within 2 degrees compared to a Tech 2
