Default 1.85 Rockers, Do they increase the power range

If I install the 1.85 Rocker arms on a stock C-5 LS1 cam, will the power band increase past the 5500rpm or will the engine stop making additional HP as it does know. Thanks

yes you'll gain a bit more top end, but nothing like you would with the installation of a better cam

Agreed. Your lifts will go up a little.

Lift goes up but duration does not (by much). Flow
is the "area" (lift*duration*mysterious lobe & flow
dynamics). A performance cam increases both lift
and duration over the stocker. If your heads show
no flow increase after 0.550" lift then increasing
lift by whatever means is no help and only duration
will improve things from there. Right?

Also most aftermarket cam griders DO NOT reccomend using 1.85 rocker with their cams. So if you ever decide to go bigger you will prolly have to ditch the rockers

I gained 15hp from 4500rpm up with 1.8 rockers & the stock cam. And I now continue increase hp from 6k to 6300 (well, 6500 now with the Hot Cam) where before it went flat at 5500. But you'll need better springs to make it all work at the increased rpms.

I changed the heads with ported ones that flow 285 @ 5.50, the heads also have 918 springs so I should be set. Im guessing with the 1.85 Rockers I should make power up to 6000 rpms. Thanks

You guys should list your mods when you ask questions. Like in your sig perhaps, then we could make a better call
