Default 11 Second Bolt On M6 Guys In Here!

I want what you guys have, a bolt on 11 second 6 speed LS1. I'd like to think I am well on my way, as I had a new best today, 12.757 @ 110.24 with a 1.976 short time. My mods are as follows: Lid, GMMG exhaust, ported MAF Ends, Descreened MAF, !EGR, and ported TB. I have pulled about 100 pounds out of my car (rear seats, passenger seat, spare tire/jack, floor mats, hatch cover, and all extra crap) and have trapped as high as 111.41.

I'm thinking to get there, I might need to diet. Both me and my car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> But if possible, I'd like to keep the weight as is. On my car, that is. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Bolt on's I need to do are: LT Headers, Y-Pipe (no cats), ASP pulley, BG Ram Air mod, skinnies, gears, and stickier tires. Am I missing anything that might help me? What about an LS6 intake? Is that considered a "bolt on"? Tell me what I need to do! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

It's all in your 60' times. 12.7 with a 1.9 60' is pretty good. If you can find a way to get it down to 1.5 on the 60' you'll be off to a good start. My car with me in it at the moment weighs in at 3750 with no weight reduction except the spare and jack. I've done quite a bit more to my car including h/c, headers, etc.

You already have quite a bit listed that are great bolt ons to consider that will get you closer. I would also look at your suspension a little as well as far as shocks and springs go.

I can tell you that my quest for 11's has cost me a lot of parts, including a rear end and a driveshaft. So if you have a stock 10 bolt then you're going to want to look at a 12 bolt and a heavy duty driveshaft, so save up some cash!

Yeah,start with a 1.5x 60' and work you're way from there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yes, I forgot suspension work. Often overlooked, I think. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> I was thinking LCA's to start and not sure what else. Springs you say? OK then... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I think if you look at all the fast bolt on cars...especially m6's they're all very light. Once you've got all the bolt ons weight reduction is all that is left. You will need a good rear end, slicks or et streets and some excellent driving.

I just went back through my book of timeslips and I was running 11.8x's in 80 degree weather with humidity of 60% This is with a Raceweight of 3550lbs. I dont consider that light at all.

To run 11's with a "bolt on" M6 you need Gears, Tires, regular bolt-ons, and a bad *** Launch.
Check out my website for my mods and racing tips.

i never got the 11 sec timeslip before my stock motor went, but my car went 116 mph on bolt ons. the key is in the 60 foot. i got a best of 12.20 in the summer heat with a 1.74 60 foot but my mph was down to 114 because of the heat. i have seen a few guys up here in md get back up to the 115 range since its gotten cooler, and running 12.0's and 12.1's.

get the headers, and work on the 60 foot. 12 bolt and et streets are the best fix for that.

good luck

i actually havent ran an 11 second pass yet but my last 1/8 was a tenth faster than my 12.1 pass. doing a clutch soon cause the stocker is going out so i can finally throw some real tires on this thing.

01-Z 11.40s or bust for me when i drop the 350lbs and go to HRP.

my best is in the sig, i did that with STOCK gears, stock clutch and 16"nittos no skinnies, mods are in the sig, only difference it then i didn't have the 12 bolt or the McLeod clutch, car weighed in at 3185 without me with rear seats, passenger seat, spare tire/jack and center console, and front sway bar removed, cut a 1.865 60'

the times in my sig are NA, on a 85 dry shot the car went 11.41 with some 28"s on it, so the 11.98 is all bolt on muscle
