Traction limits the LS1 Monte to a disappointing 12.68 @ 116MPH
I went to the last test and tune in the Puget Sound area tonight and had real traction problems (as did most everyone else with street tires) well beyond the 60' mark which was very interesting.
I was actually able to launch my car better than last time with my 4.10's vs. the 3.73's as evidenced by my best ever 60' time of 2.099, however, once the RPM approached my torque band around 4500 RPM all hell broke loose in 1st and 2nd geaar and things got pretty squirly. Results below:
60'----2.099
330'---5.590
1/8----8.372
MPH---90.23
1000'--10.733
1/4----12.684
MPH---115.88
These times reflect my ported heads being installed and definately show more HP based on the MPH (2+ MPH over stock heads), however, I couldn't put all of the new found power to the pavement so the true potential of this combo won't really be demonstrated until next season when I will be forced to use stickier tires and a new clutch since my Z06 set-up started slipping tonight too.

My times are almost identical to yours. 12.65 @116.5 mph with a 2.15 60ft. As soon as my car hits around 4K rpm it starts spinning and sometimes when it happens in 2nd gear it can be real scarey!

I think the Monte would look kick *** with some Draglites and slicks/runners <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
116 will get you into the 11s no problem if you can hook!

I think you have 11's@117plus in that car with traction <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Dont be disapointed it is a strong running car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Hey John, This is charles (I bought the oil pan from you for my 80 Bu).
116 mph is awesome without traction. You should be able to see 118mph with traction. Mid 11's are just a good 60ft away. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Good luck
