Default will it hurt the trans to put a shift kit in and drive it without a tune?

I mean without taking the torque multiplacation out? I will just be driving it from the tranmission shop the the place to put the cam in I also will have a 4000 stall if put in if that matters

EDITING MY FIRST RESPONSE:

Just checked the Transgo website. There is a potential conflict between the Transgo and the stock PCM programming. Transgo recommends disabling TM to avoid this conflict.

So, yes, you should tune the PCM.

getting the car tuned is always a good thing but to be honest i ran a 3200 vig a trans go shift kit and never had any problems so i guess it is your call.

I have a 4000 stall and a shift kit without a tune right now. I ran the shift kit for a year without tuning and had no problems that I know of. I am scheduled to tune next week though and with that stall I recommend it. Also don't hold back on the washers when putting in the shift kit because after the stall the rough shifts tend to dissapear.
