Default Which tires for year round daily FUN driving?

OK..thinking ahead towards getting new tires as i upgrade my suspenion.

currently running with Falken Ziex ZE-512.

245/50 zr-16 on stock TA wheels ( 16x9?)

not bad considering thier price i think....but definetly soft in sidewall.

so...what are you all using for your daily driver tires?

I would describe myself as a "spirited" street driver who loves nothign better than to take an on ramp at ..ah..higher speeds...s it curves on to I95.

Thanx!

Frank

Good for all year around, but not for a daily driver IMO. The tread life isn't that great on these. I would think something like Kumho's or BFG KDW's would be a better choice.

How long have you had yours? Treadwear ratings are pretty high.

But I think the treadwear is rated at 260 or 280. That isnt that high. I think the max is around 600.

Have you noticed the trend of z rated tires? Not that great of tread wear in general. Just check out tirerack.com if you want to compare tires. You'll plainly see which is the best all around tire.

i've had Firehawk SZ50s and BFG KDWs TWICE on the 2 birds i've had since 99. they have fairly high ratings 320+ (aside from the ones that came on my Firehawk, they had a 280 rating) and i seem to go through a set a year, 12-15K miles. I'm starting to wonder if I should even consider treadwear ratings anymore. I don't drive like a grandma =\

Can't beat a the Yokohama AVS Sport for all weather traction, great tread wear, great performance. IMO, they hook as well, if not better than a drag radial, and corner like a dream. I will never run another street tire again.

My girlfriend had BFG G-force KDW on her 16in wheels and IMO they were better than the goodyears. Great traction and handling.
