Do ET streets get old?
I seem to still be having a traction problem. I have just about every ******* suspension part you can buy. I still spin the 28x12.5 ET streets at the track.
Is there a way of telling the manufacture date of the tires?

It doesn't go by the born on date. Slicks will deteriorate if you kill them during your burnout and/or leave them exposed to the sun. Also if they are older the sidewall is the reason its becoming less effective. Check the sidewall for micro cracks

yes, as slicks get older they become less sticky. not something that happens over a few months, but if you run on a set that has been around for a couple years, then throw on a brand new pair you will see a big difference

Re: Do ET streets get old?
slicks and et streets can lose their grip from burnout heat affecting the sidewalls and tread. Although I know people that have gotten 250+ runs on m/t's with 12 and 11 second cars, the best I've done is 166 runs and some street driving on my 26 x 11.5 et streets.

Oh and another thing, I tried burning these tires down on the street to maybe get down to some good rubber. Even with VHT they dont leave any black marks on the street. These tires will just leave a black trial of dust when I roll out of the burn out.
Thanks guys,
Ken
