Jim</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The motor plate lighter than the mounts and gives you much more room to work with around the engine, also gives you MUCHO more options for custom headers, and since it's tieing together the front of the car at the same time the chassis rigidity is improved.
<strong>Brian, have you put them on any of those fast cars you've built? I've seen at least one fast car from your shop with the solid mounts. I'm considering either the plate or the solid mounts and since they're both the same price I'm not sure which to go with? Which saves the most weight, etc? My car is a non-AC, non-PS track only car btw.

Re: LS1 motorplate The motor plate might be lighter then the mounts, but remember, with the solid mounts you get to get rid of the stock mounts!
It seemed like my solid mounts were 5-6 lbs. heavier then the solid ones...for each mount.

Re: LS1 motorplate What else would be needed for the installation? Does the $150 include everything that would be needed (except for welding on the attachments, obviously)?
Does the engine end up in the exact same location as with the stock mounts? I have mine tilted back just a tad due to the tight floorboard clearance with the headers. The stock rubber mounts give me the little bit of adjustability that I need.

Re: LS1 motorplate We just received one of the new LS1 motorplates and it looks great. Now we can ditch the stock flex-o-mounts and pickup some 60'! Thanks for the plate MADMAN.
